Scunthorpe's play-off hopes took another blow as they were held by title-chasing Doncaster Rovers, in a dramatic final ten minutes.
For 75 minutes Scunthorpe had looked comfortable and had built up a 2-0 lead, Rovers were down to ten men after James Price was sent off in the 72nd minute.
Scunthorpe took a 10th minute lead when a Steve Torpey header, which he claimed, was helped over the line by Chris Beech.
Rovers retaliated with Andy Butler clearing from Adriano Rigoglioso and Nathan Stanton was alert to halt a great run by Gregg Blundell.
An equlaiser looked inevitable almost on the interval whistle, Blundell put Paul Green through and as he drove forward his effort was cleared off the line by Butler.
In the closing seconds of the half Scunthorpe were denied a second goal, keeper Andy Warrington produced a brilliant one-handed save from a Paul Hayes header.
Scunthorpe grabbed a second goal in the 62nd minute, it was the young centre-back Butler who poked the ball home for his first senior goal.
Rovers then had Price dismissed but that seemed to give them greater energy and when Stanton bundled Michael McIndoe over in the area, he calmly netted the penalty in the 81st minute.
Warrington brilliantly saved from Cleveland Taylor, but Rovers came again and in injury-time burly striker Leo Fortune-West forced home the equaliser
