Striker Eoin Doyle went close with one early effort that tested goalkeeper Sam Slocombe.But it was Scunthorpe who opened the scoring in the 14th minute when leading marksman Sam Winnall poached his 15th goal of the season from close range after a shot on the turn from strike partner Paddy Madden, on his full debut, eluded keeper Tommy Lee.As Chesterfield tried to hit back, defender Liam Cooper forced a full-length save from Slocombe with a cracking long range effort.The Spiteites deservedly hit back on the stroke of half-time when Doyle equalised from the spot after defender Richie Humphreys had been held back in the box by Terry Hawkridge.Scunthorpe came into the game as an attacking force in the second half, without creating any clear-cut chances.It was Chesterfield who thought they had snatched a winner when Doyle netted from close range in the 59th minute but he was flagged offside as he followed up a shot from Gary Roberts that had been half blocked by Slocombe
