He made 102 first-team appearances in that time, but prolonged runs in the team were few and far between.
Wright revealed that he had taken advice from his former Iron teammates Garry Thompson and Mark Duffy, both of whom were signed from the Shrimps, before joining the Lancastrians.
"Garry and Mark had a lot of good things to say about the club,'" he told Morecambe's official website.
"I am really looking forward to pre-season and getting to meet all the lads. It's a new challenge for me and I'm really looking forward to it."
