Darlington, Bristol Rovers and Bournemouth AFC have all expressed an interest in the right sided defender/midfielder who joined us from local rivals Grimsby Town.
Darlo manager Tommy Taylor however revealed that they are pulling out of the race after the players agent demanded a fee in order to open talks with the Scunny-born lad.
"There's no way our chairman would agree to that, and I support him," said Taylor.
"If the agent keeps saying that, then we'll forget about signing him."
Boston United and Leyton Orient have also been linked with the player.
The 24-year-old player is in demand after netting 12 times for Halifax Town last season, despite playing in a side which went on to finish bottom and be relegated back into the conference.
The Yorkshire club were forced to release all their players after being put into administration, and it might be a while before we see them back in the football league.
Anotherr former United player looks set to be returning to the nationwide league, as Darryn Stamp continnues to generate interest from Northampton Town and Boston United.
Northampton were reported to the FA by his club Scarborough after allegedly making an illegal approach to the player, they have since come in with a bid which was rejected by the Yorkshire outfit.
Stampy has admitted he would like another crack at league footy after failing to make an impact at Glanny Park, but it depends whether either of the interested parties can come up with the cold hard cash.
