The Shrimps won promotion to the League thanks to victory in the Conference play-offs.
They beat Exeter 2-1 in the final at Wembley, repeating the feat he helped Scunthorpe do in the 1999 Division Three final.
Barnet head to Christie Park on Saturday, with Lillis relishing a return to the League.
"Hopefully the fans will turn out in numbers again and we carry on the momentum we had at Wembley," said Lillis, who left Glanford Park to take control of Halifax in 2000.
"I think it's great for the fans that we are going to start the season at home.
"Your first home game in the Football League is always a special occasion and we hope that there is a big crowd on the day to make the day all the more special."
