The only new face at Hillsbrough since Laws quit Scunthorpe to take over the Championship side has been on-loan goalkeeper Mark Crossley.
And while the veteran keeper, who played alongside Laws at Nottingham Forest, has been a big hit he is hoping to further strengthen his squad for a play-off push.
"We've searched high and low and covered a lot of mileage. I'm covering loads of different positions, not only now but also for next season," said Laws.
"We'll have to do it with good hard work and scouting. Let's hope all the hard work will come to fruition and we'll bring someone in in the near future."
