The centre-back has been with the Premier League side on their training base in Switzerland, and has featured in friendlies against Tranmere Rovers and Wisla Krakow.
It is a far cry from May,when he could not force his way into the Iron side which was relegated from the Championship to League One.
"It was a good experience going on loan at Scunthorpe and it was a good eye opener to see how it was in the Championship," he told Liverpool's official website.
"It started well but then I was left out of the team towards the end, which was disappointing."
Hobbs is hoping to play against Hertha Berlin in the Reds' next friendly, but knows he has to maintain high standards if he is to feature in the plans of his boss Rafa Benitez.
"There is strong competition here at the back but it is always going to be that way at a club like Liverpool," he added.
"You have to always give the best of your ability and try and show what you can do when you get the chance to play in the first team. I am just going to try my best every day in training and see where it takes me.
"It's going to be tough but I'm going to work as hard as I possibly can to try and show the manager I can do a good job for him."
Hobbs joined United on loan in January's transfer window, making nine appearances and scoring one goal.
