The 28-year-old has scored six goals on loan for League One strugglers Wycombe, which has caught the eye of his parent club Charlton Athletic.
For Chris Powell, the Addicks boss, it could mean recalling the forward to bring him back into the fold as his side bid to seal the championship.
"It was always part of the thought process of mine to let him get some games and get him up to speed, and then have the ability to call him back," he said.
"I always felt it was beneficial to him but also to us that I could call him back with a vital run-in and have a player who is up to speed, confident and scoring goals.
"I will have to wait and see whether to do that or whether to leave him at Wycombe, but I can call him back at any time."
