Forrester makes Lincoln switch

Forrester left Glanford Park in the summer of 1999, after helping United to victory in the Third Division play-off final over Leyton Orient.

He joined Dutch side FC Utrecht on a Bosman transfer, but returned to England later that season with Northampton Town.

The pint-sized striker wanted to return to Glanford Park, but the club's oboard of directors were not prepared to pay the £50,000 transfer fee wanted by Utrecht.

His career has taken him to Bristol Rovers, via Hull City, and he will spend the next month back in Lincolnshire.

"I needed to bring someone in and hopefully Jamie will come here and liven us up a little bit," Imps boss Keith Alexander said.

"He's had a difficult time at Bristol Rovers recently, but he is a proven goalscorer at this level."
