Brough left United towards the end of last season when he became frustrated at the lack of first team opportunities on offer to him at Glanford Park. He opted to join Unibond outfit Barrow - where Scunthorpe United's football in the Community officer Lee Turnbull is currently the manager.
However, since then Brough has had a trial at Grimsby Town where he wasn't offered a deal despite speculation that his future lie at Blundell Park.
He is currently on trial at York Street where he's looking to impress York Street gaffer Neil Thompson in order to win himself a contract back into the professional game.
He did his chances no harm last week scoring a thunderbolt in the final minutes of the Pilgrim's 8-0 drubbing of Goole Town and will be hoping he can show enough to pursuade Thompson to offer him a permanent deal.
