But some media reports claimed the 39-year-old was in line for a move to Elland Road, where he would be lining up against Scunthorpe on August 9 rather than preparing for Hull's season opener against Fulham a week later.
Unsurprisingly, Windass's agent John Hendrie said his client is not about to walk out on the chance to represent his home city in the Premier League.
"I've seen the story and I was surprised by it, it's news to me," he said.
"Dean's still got another year left on his contract at Hull and he'd like another crack at the Premier League."
