The Owls looked to be on course for their first win of the season when they lead Charlton 2-0 at The Valley on Saturday, but three second-half strikes from the home side left Wednesday rooted to the foot of the table.
And Laws, who quit Scunthorpe to take charge at Hillsborough almost 10 months ago, felt his team gifted the Addicks their first success of the campaign.
"We've got no leaders in the team. We need leadership and experience and we don't have it," he admitted.
"We're desperate to bring players in. The team spirit isn't where it should be.
"We fell apart, caved in like a pack of cards. I was very disappointed and very angry."
