The 29-year-old has 19 goals to his name this season, his second at the Wirral club.
And although the play-offs look to be beyond Tranmere this season, Greenacre is fully focused on helping Rovers win promotion to the Championship.
"I said when I signed originally that I was here for the long haul and I'm pleased the club want me to stay," he said.
"Tranmere showed faith in me two years ago and I'm very thankful for that. Hopefully I can continue to repay them by scoring goals.
"We'll continue to do everything we can to push for promotion this season, but if we don't achieve that, then hopefully we'll get it next season."
