Scunthorpe-born Wilson, 29, has made seven Championship appearances for the South Yorkshire club this season, but has been allowed to move to Prenton Park.
The former Manchester United youngster has had spells with Middlesbrough and FC Dallas during his career.
"Mark's a quality midfielder. He's a good passer of the ball who can play either the holding or attacking roles," manager Ronnie Moore told the club's official website.
"He played more than 30 games last season in a side that got promoted and he's been involved this season too. I'd like to thank Doncaster manager Sean O'Driscoll for allowing him to join us for a month."
