Lifelong Huddersfield fan Denton, who was playing for Unibond side Wakefield, put pen to paper on a deal that will keep him at the Galpharm until 2011.
And the Terrier's new 6ft 7" recruit revealed that he had turned down deals at Blackburn and Crystal Palace before deciding to join Huddersfield.
Denton told htafc.com: "It's a dream come true for me. I've been a Town fan all my life and I wanted to play here. I had a trial at Palace and a week's trial at Blackburn and they made an offer, but I only wanted to play for Huddersfield Town."
Huddersfield boss Stan Ternent was delighted the 19 year old chose to join the Terriers, "He's got a great deal of potential and I don't think it will be long before the fans see him in a blue and white shirt."
He also claimed that his decision to sell Dave Mirfin to Scunthorpe was in the "best interest for both parties."
