Inevitably that is bringing speculation of a move higher up the Football League, but Malpas said he will not be under pressure to sell in January's transfer window.
"If he keeps on scoring goals then it is good for the club. I would rather him be banging in the goals that not," he said.
"Undoubtedly there will be interest in him, but he won't be leaving here easily. Why would we want to break the team up in the transfer window?
"The chairman assures me that we don't have to go selling players at the moment, so I can't see him going anywhere in January."
