He returns to The County Ground just less than a year after joining The Swans from Swindon on a free transfer.
The 31-year-old was then put on the transfer list by Swansea boss Kenny Jackett at the end of last season, despite having two years left on his contract with the South Wales outfit.
The former Bristol Rovers, Torquay United and Reading player will stay with Andy King's side until the end of the year - with a view to the deal becoming a permanent arrangement.
