The 23-year-old thought his dream of a professional career was over when non-league side AFC Telford went bust last season - leaving him out of work - but he earned a move to Swansea and quickly caught the eye of Wales boss John Toshack.
Now he will earn his sixth international cap against the might of England in the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, and admits the star players he will be asked to stop will have no idea who he is.
He said: "I first thought I would be facing David Beckham, now it seems it will be Shaun Wright-Phillips.
"They will probably think they can beat me easily, but it's down to me to stop that happening.
"In the last couple of years I have made huge leaps in my career, from Telford, to being out of work, to joining Swansea and now having a new contract and a Wales place.
"It has all happened very fast and hopefully it is not the end, I am to continue moving upwards in my career and just hope I can put on a good show against England."
