Saturday's 3-1 win over Bristol City at Millmoor saw the Yorkshire side climb out of the relegation zone.
And it came hot on the heels of confirmation that a consortium of local businessmen had put together a takeover package to prevent the club going bust.
Knill, a former Scunthorpe defender, admitted: "That was a brilliant end to the week.
"I was a bit worried at half-time, even though we went in at 2-0, because I thought we were pretty poor.
"But in the second half, for 25 minutes we were outstanding - it was an excellent performance by everybody."
