Rochdale boss dismisses Walsall link

Stories in the media on Sunday suggested that Hill was the favourite to be given the job at the Bescot Stadium. Reports also claimed that he had even applied for the position.

However, Hill has been quick to deny link with the West Midlands outfit, confirming his commitment to the Spotland club.

Hill told the club's official website: "I honestly don't know where this has come from, it is completely out of left-field. I can categorically state that I have never, while I have been contracted to this club, applied for any jobs.

"I want everyone to know that I am 100 per cent committed with Dave Flitcroft, to the club, to the board, to the players and to the supporters."
