The takeover of the Pilgrims by John Sotnick saw former manager Steve Evans, who had been banned for over a year after making illegal payments to players when the club were in the Conference, re-instated as manager.
Neil Thompson was sacked to make way and 38-year-old Redfearn was told that he was no longer assistant manager, although the club had expected him to continue as a player
But in a statement released today he said: "Boston have recently put out an announcement that I should return to the club, but this is not possible as a result of the club's conduct towards me.
"The club have, without any notice to me, terminated my contract as assistant manager and I cannot, under those circumstances, return to Boston.
"I am very disappointed that matters have reached this stage and as a result I have had no alternative but to terminate my non-contract playing arrangement with the club."
