North End chairman Derek Shaw said: "Brian Stock flew up from Southampton on Friday evening and arrived in Preston around 8pm. He immediately had a medical, which he passed, while Billy Davies and myself were in negotiations with his representative.
"We have added a quality midfield player to the squad. Brian has an excellent football brain and we are looking forward to working with him."
