The veteran manager attended Jordan's recent 40th birthday party and is the overwhelming favourite to take over at Selhurst Park.
Jordan told the Daily Mail: "Peter Taylor was given every chance to turn the situation around, but it hasn't happened.
"I like Peter but we need a change. I don't want to waste another season.
"We need an injection of something and someone like Neil Warnock will give us that. He's a winner and I'm a winner."
