The Latics lost 2-0 to Swindon Town on Saturday, extending a run of form that has seem them win just once in their last seven games.
It left Sheridan fuming, and prepring to alter his line-up ahead of the Iron's visit on Tuesday.
"Our play was an absolute joke at times. We played okay for the first 20 minutes, but then schoolboy errors let Swindon into the game and at times it was just embarrassing," he said.
"At 2-0 at half-time I expected a reaction from the players, but I didn't get one so I will be making changes before the next game.
"Some of our players seem to be in a comfort zone and I'm not having that at my club.
"They think they can just walk straight into the team every week without putting on a performance, but that's not the way it's going to be and they're going to find out this week that I will make changes."
