Manager Colin Calderwood said: "We are delighted that he has accepted the deal we've offered him.
"We spoke to Scott towards the end of the season although some of the other players wanted to wait until the season had ended.
"For that reason discussions with Scott were a little more advanced and we are pleased they have come to a speedy conclusion."
