Brian Tinnion quit as boss of the Robins on Sunday following a 7-1 drubbing at Swansea, with Butcher the latest name to be linked.
But the former England defender insists he is not seeking to quit Fir Park.
He said: "That's all news to me. There's nothing at all in the rumours and I treat it all as pure speculation.
"We'll just carry on as normal because we've got a big game on Saturday at home to Falkirk.
"That's the only thing on the minds of myself and the players. There's nothing happening at all."
Former England boss Graham Taylor has also been linked with the position.
