A Rochdale spokesperson said: "It's not at all certain that anyone will be appointed next week.
"We've got another board meeting before any appointment is made."
Dale have been left without a manager since Paul Simpson resigned at the end of the season.
Little has previously managed Wolves, Darlington, Leiecster, Aston Villa, Stoke City and West bromwhich Albion.
