Lowe cleared of drug smuggling

Lowe, 31, was accused of attempting to possess 1.17kg of crack cocaine with intent to supply.

It was alleged that the Jamaican striker signed for a package at his home in Rushden, Northamptonshire, in April 2004, which held the drugs in a false-bottom container.

A majority jury verdict at Northampton Crown Court cleared Lowe of the allegation on Friday afternoon.
