Lincoln move for Forest's Johnson rebuffed

The Imps boss had a shortlist of three strikers including 28-year-old Johnson, Doncaster's Gregg Blundell and out-of-contract ex-Watford forward Bruce Dyer, but the ex-Northwich boss has turned his attention elsewhere.

"David Johnson was on my list, but when the figure of £10,000 a week in wages came up my interest waned quite quickly," said Alexander.

"That is just beyond the realms of possibility for us and would easily break the wage structure."
