Jones was put in caretaker charge at the Keepmoat alongside Brian Flynn, following the exit of Dean Saunders.
He told BBC Radio Sheffield: "It's been absolutely brilliant.
"I'm loving it and we'll see what next week brings."
Despite a good start in temporary charge of Doncaster, Jones is not allowing himself to think about the possibility of taking the job on permanently.
"I've not allowed myself to think about staying on," he continued.
"It has been a pleasure so far but it's out of my hands and it is nothing to do with me. We'll see what the future brings."
Jones scored a last minute winner for Doncaster in a 2-1 win over Stevenage last weekend.
