The forward, 21, has attracted plenty of interest after hitting 20 goals so far this season - including one in his side's 2-2 draw with Scunthorpe at Glanford Park in October.
The Hammers had made contact with the Terriers, but the Yorkshire side are insistent the Scotland U21 international is not for sale.
"It has only been an enquiry but we have had a straightforward 'no, not for sale'," said Sam Allardyce, the West Ham manager.
"That is out of the equation. It was just an enquiry, nothing more."
