The 39-year-old has lead the Edinburgh side to an unbeaten start to the current Scottish Premier League season, with Hibs second in the league after an impressive 1-0 win over Rangers at Ibrox on Saturday.
The Rs, who have just six points to their name so far this term, are looking for a new boss after sacking John Gregory last week.
"There was something, but it was just a phone call. But that's done, it's in the past and it won't be happening," Collins told The Scotsman.
"I have a job to do here and I intend to see it through. I never broke a contract during my playing career, and I've no intention of doing so now."
