"It's a bitter pill to swallow and it's a massive blow for us." Pools boss Martin Scott said.
"Any team would miss a player like Adam Boyd because he's a good player and a great lad too."
Scott is already without strikers Joel Porter and James Brown, who both have serious knee injuries.
