And Pools boss Scott, whose side snatched a 3-3 draw against Scunthorpe on Bank Holiday Monday thanks to a stoppage time penalty kick, knows his side are not right mentally.
"It wasn't good enough, as simple as that. Players weren't showing the right character, passion or desire to get on the ball," he said.
"It was not good enough as a team. A lack of confidence and players not working can look very similar.
"It is not that they do not want to work. They are just struggling with a lack of belief."
