The Canada international, 26, has scored ten times in his first season with the controversial club, having made just 16 starts for Roberto Di Matteo's side.
Gerba is hopeful of lining up against the Iron at Glanford Park, a game where both sides need a win for their promotion hopes.
"When you get a chance you have to show that you are hungry and want to be in the team," he told The Citzen.
"At the same time, you have to say fair enough as the other forwards have done a great job, but you always have to be patient and wait for your turn.
"I am trying to make sure the manager keeps picking me from now on. I need to make it hard for the manager and hard for the other guys, but at the end of the day it is a team effort."
Scunthorpe were 2-0 winners in the reverse fixture in December, with goals from Ian Morris and Garry Thompson securing victory at stadium:mk in one of the Iron's best performances of the season.
