Fulham's Nevland admits tough relegation battle

The Cottagers, who are 19th in the Premier League, lurched closer to the trap door after their 2-0 defeat against Liverpool was compounded with a victory for relegation rivals Bolton Wanderers on Saturday.

Fulham are now five points adrift of safety and, although Nevland is refusing to throw in the towel, the Norway striker has admitted there is now no margin for error in the battle to beat the drop.

"I think we need to win the next three games to stay up, so they're all vital games," he told the club's official website.

"I hope we can do it because we've played some good football over the last few games.

"Away at Reading we played really well and against Liverpool it wasn't bad either. We just came up against a team that took their chances.

"I think it's possible and we have to try. We believe that we can do it but we have to work hard this week and then the result will come on Saturday."
