The club's caretaker pair of former Iron boss Frank Barlow and Ian McParland have guided the Reds to back-to-back wins since Gary Megson's resignation.

But McParland has ruled himself out of the running for the job, which current Scunthorpe manager Brian Laws has been linked with.

Doughty insists though that a decision will not be made until the season is over.

"The sort of candidate we'd want to recruit wouldn't be available until the summer because they'd be committed to their current club until the summer," said Doughty.

"The job here will be attractive to many people because finally, we're in very good shape - the Bank of England club outside the Premiership.

"And there's no revolving door here, only one of our last five managers has been dismissed."
