The top flight have proposed a deal that doubles parachute payments to clubs relegated to the Championship, and also pays much more to clubs in the second division than those in League One and League Two.

Clubs in those bottom two divisions vetoed the deal last month, fearing it would create even further unbalance, and the Premier League have warned they could cut of all solidarity payments to the Football League if it is not accepted.

Under the proposal League One clubs would receive £325,000, up from £108,000, while League Two clubs would see their payments rise from £72,000 to £250,000.

Championship sides would fet £2.2million, up from £850,000.
