The 26-year-old frontman scored once in nine appearances for Leeds following his arrival from Stockport County in January and has been told that he can leave Elland Road.
However, he is now highly unlikely to link up with the Railwaymen, having said talks "did not go that well".
"If I am going to leave, I have got to get it right for me," he told the Yorkshire Post.
"I am 26 and if I go somewhere where I might not play and it is not right, it is going to be a bad move.
"I need to do it so it is right for me and my family, so that I am playing football every week and enjoying it. There is also the financial side of things."
