The 29-year-old striker joined the Robins on a free transfer on Friday, along with fellow experienced forward Tony Thorpe.
The duo have been give the task of replacing Sam Parkin, who left the County Ground for Ipswich Town, and it is something Cureton is relishing.
"Swindon have ambitions to move on and so do I," said the ex-QPR striker.
"I want to play at a higher level again and I hope to do that here.
"I want to concentrate on my football and get back to scoring goals again. I joined QPR at a difficult time, they had their squad settled and it was difficult to get into the side.
"People know me for being at the top of the goalscoring charts. I want to get back to double figures and I am hungry for success.
"I am focused, confident and I want to get back to banging in the goals for Swindon."
