Addo was recommended to the Alex by scouts from Manchester United as Antwerp are a feeder club to the Premier League champions.
"He is currently playing in Belgian for Royal Antwerp and was recommended to us by Warren Joyce, who is the reserve team coach at United," first-team coach Steve Holland told the club's official website.
"He is a very intelligent man first and foremost. He is not overly big but big enough and his reading of the game is good.
"We will assess how he looks over the next few days and see if he meets the required standard."
Meanwhile, the Alex have received international clearance in time for new signing Clayton Donaldson to make his debut in Saturday's clash with Walsall.
