Crewe expect Thordarson to stay

The Alex chairman John Bowler is keen to tie the Icelandic manager to a long-term contract and is already making plans for next season.

Bowler told The Sentinel: "Gudjon and I are working closely together and planning a long-term future for the club. There are a lot of constructive discussions.

"Clearly he's doing well and we're now looking at what we're going to do next season."
