The midlands side are in financial trouble after a proposed takeover collapsed in Oxtober.
A new consortium led by former Manchester City player Ray Ranson is believed to be interested in rescuing the ailing Championship side, but reports on Wednesday claim the move has been blocked by a major creditor - the Co-Op Bank, which is believed to be owed £18million by the club.
If this takeover collapses then the club is expected to go into adminsitration, forcing a 10 point deduction on the side - dropping them immediately into the relegation zone.
"I would review my position in light of what I have been told," Dowie told the Coventry Telegraph.
"I will definitely be doing that. We have preached about togetherness and I have got a fantastic amount of respect for the group of professionals we have got here.
"From my point of view I have had to deal with it before at Oldham but you don't really deal with it, you go on with what you are given.
"But I'm a football manager and I will concentrate on football things."
