Burnley say Laws is staying

Burnley have again moved to reassure manager Brian Laws that his job is not under threat - the second time they have denied national media speculation over his position.
Laws, who was manager at Scunthorpe from 1997 until 2006, has been in charge of the Clarets since January when he replaced Owen Coyle.
He was not able to save the Lancashire side from relegation back to the Championship, with his side managing only three wins from his 19 games in charge.
That poor showing prompted speculation that Laws would be handed his P45 this summer, but Burnley have insisted he has the board's full confidence for next season.
"Contrary to inaccurate local and national media speculation, the Burnley Football Club board of directors wish to make it clear that Brian Laws' position as first team manager is not under threat," read a statement.
"Laws this morning [Wednesday] met with club chairman Barry Kilby and operational director Brendan Flood to plan next season's player recruitment and budget, with a view to giving the club the best chance of returning to the Premier League. Brian Laws has two years remaining on the contract he signed in January 2010."
