Burnley call for Premier League action

The three clubs who drop out of the top flught receive the cash to help them adjust to life in the Championship, with the staggered payments - which amount to £6.5million - running for two years.

"I honestly feel that it's an illegal subsidy from the Premier League that distorts our competition so badly," Clarets chairman Barry Kilby told BBC Radio Lancashire.

"Our next step will be to bring it to the League's attention. I would like to see what the League is going to do about it and discuss it with the other clubs.

"I will be campaigning this autumn for us to bring this to court, I believe we have a strong case."
