The 25-year-old is set to make his debut against Blackpool on Saturday, after signing on-loan until the end of the season.
Speaking to BBC Radio Stoke, Bothroyd said: "I want to help Stoke get to the Premier League.
"When a team like Stoke, who are doing better than Wolves, want you to play for them, it's a no-brainer.
And the striker also admitted that one of the reasons he came to the Britannia Stadium was because of manager Tony Pulis.
"Stoke are doing really well and I was keen to work with Tony Pulis because I've heard good things about him."
