Renowned as one of the best wide players outside the Football League, Pool have paid an undisclosed fee for Prendergast, although it is thought that Stanley accepted less than the £20,000 offer Bristol Rovers had turned down for the former York City man last term.
The 27-year-old impressed during the recent tour of Scotland, scoring in the opening game at Keith, and adds some natural width to Hendry’s thin squad.
