The Basque midfielder has become a cult figure since being brought to Glanford Park by Mick Buxton, and it's fair to say his goal at Wembley didn't do him no harm either.
In order to reflect his status as `Sir Alex` Iron fan Mark Bodie, who is manager of the club's official supporters side the Iron Filings, has come up with the idea of Garcia Day.
"We are doing it to explain how much of a hero Sir Alex is to the crowd, even if he isn't to the board," explained Bodie to Iron-Bru.net tonight.
"We're trying to create a party atmosphere using a Spanish/Calvo theme.
"I am doing this because Garcia is my absolute hero and I would hate for him to be forced out of the club.
"There are so many fans behind him, he is a local legend, and deserves to be treated like one.
United are still in with a shout of automatic promotion, and the final game could see the side needing a win to grasp an automatic promotion slot.
"It would be nice to have a party on the last day to celebrate promotion," added Bodie.
Iron-Bru.net is pleased to back this idea and will be participating fully, T-Shirts, somberos and moustaches have already been ordered.
Fans are asked to bring confetti, streamers, balloons, musical instruments. Anything that will add to the party atmosphere, but preferably with a Spanish twist.
