The former York City player opened the scoring with a close range finish from a Gary Hooper cross, but also close with a 25 yard drive and saw another thunderous effort crash off the underside of the crossbar.
"In the first half we were a little bit slow to get going but the second half on the counter attack we have shown how good we are," he told BBC Radio Humberside.
