The 36-year-old has had to sit out the last five games through suspension for improper conduct.
His last game was in the middle of February, but bantams manager Colin Todd will throw him back into the starting XI.
Windass, who turns 37 on the day of the game, admits he has found it hard having to watch from the sidelines.
"You'd better ask my wife what I've been like to live with," he told PA Sport.
"But it was frustrating when I thought the (midweek) game with Blackpool was going to be called off.
"I thought it would then be another week, but it wasn't so I'm glad and I can now get on with it and enjoy my training this week."
